The Rocky Mountain Veterans Center is partnering with The Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs to host a Veterans disability benefit claims clinic on October 10, 2025
The Census Bureau reported there were 110,392 veterans living in Utah in 2022 (over 16,000 in northern Utah). Utah’s Veteran population is older than the general population. Two thirds of Utah Veterans are at least 55 years old, and 44% are at least 65 years old. Nearly a third of Utah Veterans served in the Vietnam Era (August 1964 to April 1975). Less than 1% of the U.S. population has served in the military.
Since 2024, a Veterans Service Officer (VSO), hosted by the Rocky Mountain Veterans Center (RMVC), assisted over 500 Cache Valley Area Veterans successfully file for VA disability benefits. Many of these Veterans had been previously denied benefits or became so frustrated with the process that they chose not to pursue it.
To better assist Cache Valley Area Veterans the RMVC is partnering with The Utah Department of Veterans and Military Affairs (UDVMA) to host certified VSOs to assist Veterans file disability claims. UDVMA is a state organization charged with assisting service members, and their families throughout Utah.
The VSO clinic will be held from 9:30AM- 3:30 PM at the RMCV located at 1760 N. 200 E. Suite 100, North Logan, UT. Veterans, service members, their family members and caregivers can call the RMVC at 435-535-3150 or email veterans@rockymtnvc.org, or stop by the RMVC to make an appointment. Walk-ins are also welcome. Refreshments will be provided.
Ivette Orozco. UDVMA Supervisor for Outreach Programs and Veteran Service Officers, John Aparicio, and Audie Valdez, VSO Outreach Specialists, will be available to meet with Veterans and their families. Collectively, they have over 40 years’ experience at the federal and state level working with Veterans and military families.
The RMVC and UDVMA are committed to improving the lives of Veterans, service members, their families, and our communities by engaging partners to provide resources and services that have a lasting impact. Our goal is to "leave no Veteran behind."
For more information about the clinic or to make an appointment contact the RMVC at 435-535-3150 or by email at veterans @rockymtnvc.org.
